Losing Weight Doesn't Have to be Difficult
57Losing Weight Easily
Well from mine and my wife's own true stories I can tell you that you don't need any of those fancy diets or drugs to lose weight! All you need is some serious will-power and some lifestyle change. Thinks about what you eat in these term as far as the size of your portions goes
You have 3 objects to visualize. A basketball, a softball, and a golf ball. Here in America we have become so accustomed to sitting down to huge portions i.e. the basketball. Where many of us make our first big mistake is we decide to shift our portion to the golf ball sized portion thinking we will lose weight rapidly.
That generally turns out to be disastrous. We instantly feel we are being starved and most often return back to the basketball sized portion and eat even more than we did originally. Well if you look at things logically, you will see that a gradual tapering off is a much smarter move.
So, in that light you need to drop down to the softball sized serving and that is where the will-power comes in. You need to seriously work hard at being just a little bit hungry and soon your stomach will shrink a little and you will feel much better about eating smaller portions. It does take work and there are a few tricks you can use to help you out.
Just before you sit down to eat, drink a large glass of water. This will help you feel full faster and digest your food better. Take the time to slow down and chew your food and actually taste it. In today's time we are so starved for time to get all the things done we need to do each day that we even gulp down our meals.
Exercise! Just take a short walk each day. Before you know it you will be walking a mile or 2 each day. You will even start to enjoy your walks and the quality time you get to spend with mother nature and a loved one if you choose to walk with someone. It won't be long and you will actually miss not being able to go for your nightly walk should you become occupied with something else or the weather stops you from going.
The most important thing we did to lose weight was to watch very carefully the amount and the quality of food we snacked on after meals each night. We found that by eating an apple instead of a cereal bowl overflowing with ice cream was every bit as satisfying and made us feel like we were taking control of what we ate instead of the food controlling us.
Cut back or better yet cut out completely the soda. Drink juice instead. Eating healthy and drinking the right things plus exercise will have you dropping weight in no time at all. The lifestyle change is a healthy thing and will add energy so you can go out and do yard-work and gardening with ease. There is plenty of information on the Internet about drugs and fancy dieting programs but in reality all you need is some common sense and will power and you can do it all on your own.
Think about the shape people were in 50 years ago and try and recall how many large people you can remember seeing in ads or pictures. The amount of labor saving devices available back then was limited and therefore forced people to do what we were meant to do and that was to stay active and be physical in our efforts to get our daily work done. People were just in better health generally speaking back then.
Try starting your own diet plan today and just wait until you get your first complement and see how you feel and how that drives you to continue on and do even better with your weight loss.
